2018 Healthcare Voter Campaign
As part of Gettysburg DFA’s fall focus on “what’s at stake” in the mid-term elections, the Healthcare Task Force is organizing a Healthcare Voter Campaign.
As healthcare costs continue to rise, protections (such as for pre-existing conditions) are threatened, and the Affordable Care Act, Medicaid and even Medicare are in danger of major cuts; healthcare has become a major concern of millions of Americans. With so many people affected, it has been called one of—if not THE most important—issue in the mid-term elections.
As part of our campaign, we will collect signatures on a Healthcare Voter form and pledge reminder at various festivals in the area, beginning with the Heritage Festival at Gettysburg Rec Park on September 16th. We will also have voter registration information and forms and offer a list of candidates that includes their positions on healthcare.
Our Healthcare Voter Campaign will be launched officially at the September 5 DFA meetup. Robin Stelly of Pennsylvania Health Access Network, an organization with which our task force is closely allied, will address the audience about what is at stake for healthcare in this election.
